So I tried to Kon-Mari my skincare and was still left with this…
I’ve been asked about my skincare regimen lately and honestly I’m not sure why. My skin is NOT great and never has been. I grew up with the craziest acne - forehead breakouts from 8th grade to high school and then cheek breakouts once I started college. It really only went away the second I went on birth control. I don’t have problems with acne or breakouts now, but I do have redness on my cheeks that I started noticing about 2-3 years ago.
Anyway, you asked and I had leftover shots on the disposable camera :) See below for my current skincare routine.
REN CLEAN SKINCARE Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk - Came recommended from a follower after I asked what would help with my redness & sensitivity. My facialist also told me that the gel cleanser I was using could be too harsh on my sensitive skin and suggested I switch to a milk cleanser. I’m now almost done with this bottle & already bought a second.
JOANNA VARGAS Daily Serum - It’s like a green juice for your face. This was gifted to me but I liked it so much I asked for it a second time :) It’s got lots of vitamins, hyaluronic acid & antioxidants.
BIOSSANCE 100% Squalane Oil - Honestly bought this because of a Black Friday deal they had going on. It was super cheap at the time and the reviews on this are really, really good. It’s moisturizing and leaves my skin feeling dewy. Before this, I was using Kate Somerville’s Dilo Oil, which I liked, too.
DRUNK ELEPHANT Shaba Complex Eye Serum - Just started using this guy. It’s super light and has great reviews.
OLE HENRIKSEN Total Truth Brightening Eye Cream - Started using this recently, too. Was in a gift bag I got and am putting it to use - haha.
REN CLEAN SKINCARE Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream - I liked everything else I used from this line so I recently bought and started using this moisturizer. I need anything to help cure my redness.
SUPERGOOP Superscreen Daily Moisturizer SPF 40 - I know it’s bad, but I didn’t wear a lot of SPF because I relied on my makeup that has SPF in it. I was also told SPF can really irritate sensitive skin so I secretly avoided it. I’ve recently been gifted this and use it on the days I know I’m not wearing makeup.
GLOSSIER Balm Dot Com - Duh.
LANO LIPS 101 Ointment Multipurpose Superbalm - Nice, basic lip balm that can be used on hands, cuticles, etc.
CLINIQUE Take The Day Off Balm - I personally don’t love it. I liked Farmacy’s Green Clean Cleansing Balm better but after a follower messaged me about it, I’m not so sure. She told me how Farmacy’s product has Polyethylene in it (also known as PEG-insert number) which can be bad for your skin, but super bad for the environment… It’s a type of plastic and it’s in SO many skin and makeup products. Read up here.
REN CLEAN SKINCARE Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk - See above.
BIOSSANCE Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum - I’ve heard great things about retinol, but also that it can be harsh on sensitive skin. This serum uses a plant-derived retinol so it has the same effect, just without the irritation.
BIOSSANCE 100% Squalane Oil - See above.
KATE SOMERVILLE Wrinkle Warrior Eye Gel - Trying it out as it was gifted to me! The reviews aren’t amazing and to be honest… I have no idea if my under-eyes have improved at all, but it can’t hurt… right?
LANCOME Advanced Genifique Yeux - Again, gifted but also down to use until it’s gone because I don’t want under-eye circles or wrinkles.
REN CLEAN SKINCARE Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm - The reviews are amazing. I prefer a cream over this gel turned oil like texture, but I do think it helps calm my redness.
LATISSE - I started using this after getting lash extensions and it really works. I got it at wholesale luckily, but will probably switch to Grande Lash since my friends can’t stop raving about it. I also recently got my lashes permed by Lash Lifts and I will NEVER do extensions ever, ever again.
CERAVE Moisturizing Lotion - I used to get my skin lasered and the lady who did it would always tell me to use this lotion and a Dove bar on my face when my skin would freak out and get really red. It was something about it having super simple ingredients that my skin can handle. I still use it when I feel like my skin needs a break and sometimes put Vitamin E on top to help reduce redness.
KATE SOMERVILLE Exfolikate Gentle - Linking a few exfoliants I use here and below. I don’t scrub because my skin is so sensitive. Instead, I just leave it on for 5-10 minutes. This one I leave on in the shower while I wash my hair and body.
SUMMER FRIDAYS Overtime Mask - Smells soooo good and leaves my skin super soft.
FRESH Lotus Youth Preserve Rescue Mask - Got a small size of this as a party favor and LOVE it. It’s light and feels really fresh.
NUFACE Mini Facial Toning Device - Ok this thing really works. I saw it a lot on IG stories and would get FOMO because everyone’s faces would be more contoured. I was finally gifted one and it does work! I’m just too lazy to use it all the time…
JOANNA VARGAS Rescue Serum - I don’t know what it is about JV products but they all smell sooo good. This one’s main thing is Vitamin C.
Again, I’m NOT a skincare expert so feel free to tell me your favorites and things you hate by commenting below. xx
